Dr. Grimes is an Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, WI. Originally from Washington State, he received his M.D. from the University of Washington, completed his urology residency training at the University of Wisconsin, and did his fellowship in Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Grimes’ clinical interests include urethral stricture disease, male urinary incontinence, upper urinary tract reconstruction, urinary diversion, and gender affirming surgery.
Dr. Grimes is board-certified in Urology and a member of the American Urologic Association and Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons.
Dr. Grimes’ clinical and translational research program is focused on improving patient care through the development and implementation of minimally invasive assessment tools and treatments for lower urinary tract obstruction caused by male urethral stricture disease and benign prostatic hyperplasia. His research efforts are supported by funding from the National Institutes of Health.
